Why CabMfg exists

Every shop owner knows this stack of pain.

You don't need another piece of software. You need fewer. Here's what we replace.

Excel for parts, MaxCut for nesting, Word for shop tickets, Dropbox for plans
Jobs, parts, optimizer, labels, and PDFs — all in one cloud workspace
Optimizer labels are PDFs glued to a page — no native ZPL, can't add install date or route
Native Zebra ZPL printing on ZD421/ZD621/ZT230 — with custom fields you define
Mozaik says "you don't need that" when you ask for a custom field
Add any field in 30 seconds. Installer, route, install date, QR codes. No code.
Walking back to the office to look up the cabinet drawing
Job documents pinned to the optimizer. Open the PDF on the saw tablet in one tap.
Per-seat pricing — pay 5x because you have 5 employees
Flat per-shop pricing. Add the whole crew. Office, designer, panel saw, install — same price.
Custom post-processor work that costs $5K and takes 6 weeks
Bring your own post. Clean DXF + CSV out — feed Vectric, Mastercam, WoodWOP, Enroute.
What's inside

Everything your shop needs. None of what it doesn't.

Five tools, one cloud workspace, one price. Open it on any browser, any tablet, any phone.

Sheet optimizer

Grain-aware nesting that actually fits the way you cut.

Length × width × grain direction — the way shops actually think. Not "height × width" like every other optimizer that confuses operators on day one.

  • Grain runs the long side — set it once, optimize forever
  • Touch a part on the tablet, mark it cut, scrap track the rest
  • Multi-sheet, multi-material, multi-job in a single optimization
  • Job documents pinned to the right side — open plans without leaving the optimizer

Label printing

Real Zebra labels, with the fields you actually need.

Native ZPL straight to your Zebra ZD421, ZD621, ZD220, ZT230, or ZT411 over your shop network. Not a PDF you have to print. Not a Brother QL800 driver puzzle.

  • Custom fields — installer, install date, route, customer notes — added in 30 seconds
  • Print preview at the panel saw before you commit a roll of labels
  • Templates — switch from cabinet shop to sign shop or sheet metal in one click
  • QR codes that open the part's assembly drawing on the install crew's phone
Custom label preview with installer, route, and QR code fields
Jobs & documents

One job, one place. Not 8 folders deep in Dropbox.

Every job has its parts, its sheets, its plans, its cut history, and its install crew notes — on the same page. Anyone in the shop can find what they need without asking.

  • Drag-and-drop PDF upload, inline preview, no third-party storage
  • Per-part cut tracking — see at a glance what's done and what's left
  • Activity log — who cut what, when, on which saw
  • Search jobs by customer, part number, install date, anything

Tablet at the saw

Works where you actually work — on a tablet, in dust, on a panel saw.

The whole product is built for touch. No desktop-only hand-me-down UI. No "you need a mouse for that screen." Mount a $250 Android tablet next to the saw and you're done.

  • Big touch targets, dark mode, no menu hunting
  • Web-based — no app store, no installs, no admin password
  • Works offline-tolerant — keeps your cut history if WiFi blips
  • Built for Mac, PC, Android, iPad — anything with a browser

Common questions

You're going to ask. Here's the real answer.

Is this just a fancy MaxCut clone?
No. MaxCut is a Windows-only desktop optimizer. CabMfg is a cloud platform that runs on any browser, includes job tracking, document storage, native Zebra label printing, custom fields, and per-shop pricing instead of per-device. The optimizer is one of five tools in the same workspace.
Do you generate G-code for my CNC?
Not directly. Every shop's post-processor preferences are different — feeds, speeds, bit changes, ramp moves. Forcing a one-size-fits-all G-code generator is what makes Mozaik painful. Instead, CabMfg exports clean, layer-coded DXF + a CSV cut list that drops directly into Vectric V-Carve, Aspire, Mastercam, Enroute, or WoodWOP. Use the post-processor your shop already trusts. WoodWOP MPR output is on the 2026 roadmap.
What printers work?
Any Zebra printer that speaks ZPL on port 9100 — ZD421, ZD621, ZD220, ZT230, ZT411 are all explicitly tested. The browser sends ZPL directly to the printer's IP on your shop network. No driver install, no print server, no Windows-only nonsense. Brother and Dymo are on the roadmap.
Can I move from Mozaik / Cabinet Vision / CutList Plus?
Yes. We import CSV cut lists from any of those tools — same column format Vectric's Advanced Machining Module uses. Your existing parts library and active jobs come over. Email migrate@cabmfg.com with a sample export and we'll run a free import for you.
I love SketchUp + CabinetSense. Why would I switch?
You don’t have to. Keep designing in SketchUp + CabinetSense — it’s a great combo. Export your cut list as CSV and CabMfg picks it up from there: optimization with grain, real Zebra labels, job and document tracking, cut progress at the saw. CabMfg is the missing back half, not a CAD replacement.
Can I add a custom field for [installer/route/PO#/anything]?
Yes. Settings → Fields → Add field → Save. Drag onto any label, any printout, or any job page. No code, no SQL, no Python, no support ticket. We'll never tell you "you don't need that" — that's how the legacy guys treat shops.
What about non-cabinet shops — sign, sheet metal, plastics?
The engine is shop-agnostic. Label templates can be swapped, custom fields can be renamed, and the optimizer works for any sheet goods. Sign shops and sheet metal fabricators are on our radar — talk to us if you want to be a launch customer for those verticals.
Where is my data stored? Is it secure?
Cloudflare D1 (encrypted at rest), nightly backups, edge-replicated. Your shop's data is logically isolated by tenant. We export your full job history at any time as JSON — no lock-in, no hostage data.
What's the catch with the 14-day free trial?
No catch. No credit card to start. Full Shop tier features for 14 days. If you don't subscribe, your data stays available for 30 days so you can export it. We'd rather you say "not for me" early than churn six months later.
